Rosenkranz to Lead Comprehensive Breast Program
We are pleased to announce that Kari M. Rosenkranz, MD, has been appointed as Medical Director of Norris Cotton Cancer Center's Comprehensive Breast Program (CBP). As Medical Director, Dr. Rosenkranz will partner with the CBP's Scientific Director, James DiRenzo, PhD, in moving cutting-edge research in breast cancer into new therapies for patients.
Dr. Rosenkranz takes over clinical leadership of the CBP from E. Dale Collins, MD, who led the program for nine years before being named as Director of the Center for Informed Choice at The Dartmouth Institute. Under Dr. Collins's direction, the Comprehensive Breast Program worked to focus breast cancer care on the patient, creating an interdisciplinary clinic with a single point of contact for patients, and incorporating the use of computerized screening tools and patient decision-making aids to improve patients' ability to make an informed choice about treatment options.
Dr. Rosenkranz received her medical degree from Albany Medical College in New York and completed her residency in General Surgery at DHMC. In addition to a one-year fellowship in research at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, she completed a one-year fellowship in breast surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston before returning to DHMC in 2006. Dr. Rosenkranz specializes in breast cancer surgery and sees patients both in Lebanon and at Norris Cotton Cancer Center in Manchester.
