The Prouty Will Transform Hanover

July 08, 2013
Lebanon, NH

The Prouty, the signature event of the Friends of Norris Cotton Cancer Center, is New Hampshire's largest fundraiser. The colossal event includes cycling, walking, rowing, and golfing over a two-day period to support patient services and research at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center.

More than 5,000 participants are expected: 1,800 walkers, 3,000 cyclists, 150 rowers, and 140 golfers. More than 1,200 volunteers are needed to staff support stations along the route, handle traffic, compost food and utensils at the event site, staff the parking locations, and serve food onsite. Volunteers also include musicians, massage therapists, and photographers.

The Prouty funds investigator-initiated cancer research at NH's Norris Cotton Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center affiliated with the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and Dartmouth-Hitchcock. It also funds compassionate services for cancer patients and families.
