Programs and Support Groups

Unless otherwise noted, our classes and programs are primarily located in Lebanon. Contact the location where you receive your care to find out what offerings are available near you, and also see our support group listings for Manchester and Keene, NH, and St. Johnsbury, VT.

Our telephone support groups are open to anyone living in New England, regardless of where they have received treatment.

** Most services take place on the third floor (Hematology/Oncology) and the second floor (Radiation/Oncology).

We also offer many of the same services in the inpatient unit (1 West). Please ask your nurse about the free programs you can attend.

Other Supportive Services and Resources

Dartmouth Student Volunteers Who Offer Help with Chores

Dartmouth Student VolunteerMany people undergoing treatment for cancer find it difficult to perform routine chores and feats involving physical strength. The Dartmouth Student Volunteers Caring for Patients Program (VCP) sends Dartmouth student volunteers to the homes of people living with cancer on weekends when school is in session.

This program seeks to aid individuals and families affected by cancer who live within 60 miles of Dartmouth College. Past projects have included raking leaves, cleaning gutters, stacking wood, shoveling snow, moving furniture, and food shopping. All of these services are provided for free for patients with cancer and their families who do not have the time or energy to attend to these tasks themselves.

To schedule a visit from a VCP volunteer, contact Patient and Family Support Services at (603) 650-7751 or via email at cancersupport@hitchcock.org.
