Support & Well-Being

At Norris Cotton Cancer Center we know that the experience of cancer is not just medical; it is personal. We recognize that whenever one person receives a cancer diagnosis, the person's entire family is affected by the illness. Therefore, we strive to enhance the comfort and quality of life of people living with cancer and those who love them.

Patient and Family-Centered Care encompasses a broad variety of programs and services that includes a range of support services, as well as survivor and palliative care.

Our programs and services pay close attention to:

  • physical and emotional comfort
  • communication
  • coordination and continuity of care
  • shared-decision-making and care planning
  • transitions of care

A range of patient- and family-centered services are available to all patients from the moment of diagnosis throughout treatment and well-beyond into cancer-free survival. When cancer progresses and is resistant to cure, our patient and family-centered services extend to palliative care through the last chapter of people's lives and encompasses bereavement support for families.
