Blood Stem Cell Donor

"Would I do this procedure again if someone was a positive match? In a heartbeat."
Scott, Blood Stem Cell Donor and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Employee

In this short video Scott describes the procedure for donating blood stem cells. Scott says that making the donation gave him a sense of purpose. "I do feel like I'm saving someone's life, whoever that person is." Scott made his donation in honor of a colleague who has multiple myeloma.

He first registered for the donor program a year ago through the Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program at Norris Cotton Cancer Center. "I had no idea I was ever going to be selected for this, but having had the opportunity, I'm so glad I followed through," he comments.
