Pilot Projects

The Center’s Pilot Projects program is designed to advance a research agenda in cancer imaging focused on characterizing how patterns of patient care and outcomes of care are affected by use of imaging in cancer screening, diagnosis, and care. The overall goal of the pilot program is to facilitate collaborative CER studies within our collaborating institutions and with ACRIN-affiliated medical centers. Through a competitive request for applications (RFA) two awards were made:

  • Louise Davies, MD, Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, is conducting a “Pilot Study for a Registry of Incidentally Detected Thyroid Nodules.”
  • Christopher Sistrom, MD, University of Florida, is developing an “Infrastructure for Web Delivery of Imaging-Appropriateness Criteria.”
