Molecular and Cellular Biology Graduate Program
MCBD is a predoctoral training program. The requirements for the PhD for all MCB graduate students (and MCBD trainees) include:
- Training in the responsible conduct of research, research rotations, courses, and journal clubs
- A term of teaching
- A qualifying exam
- Yearly research-in-progress seminars
- A thesis, a thesis seminar, and a thesis defense
When the research rotations, core courses, and qualifying exam have been completed satisfactorily, the student is advanced to candidacy for the PhD degree.
