CCTG MA.39 - Tailor RT: A Randomized Trial of Regional Radiotherapy in Biomarker Low Risk Node Positive and T3N0 Breast Cancer
Principal Investigator
Study Number
STUDY02001206
Summary
This study is for patients who have low risk breast cancer and have been treated with surgery (partial or full removal of the breast). Half of the participants in this study will receive this usual treatment after surgery, radiation therapy to the chest area/remaining breast as well as the surrounding lymph glands (regional radiation). The other half of the participants will not receive regional radiation therapy. Patients who had partial breast removal will receive radiation to only the remaining breast tissue. Patients who had full breast removal will not receive any radiation therapy. The purpose of this study is to see if receiving regional radiation is better at preventing the cancer from coming back than not receiving regional radiation.
