Dartmouth Cancer Center recognizes the need to provide its 180 biomedical investigators access to instruments, technologies, services and expert consultation that can advance their research, which now garners nearly $32 million annually in peer-reviewed direct costs. The rapid pace of technological change requires continuing and significant investment in advanced instrumentation and highly skilled scientists and technologists to optimize its use.
Consolidation of core research services into share resources provides:
- Increased availability and use of technology
- Dedicated, highly-trained staff
- Improved research efficiency and productivity
- Coordination of multiple services
Consolidation creates a more efficient environment, promotes greater resource utilization, and provides an impetus to develop additional research projects. With the designation of Shared Resources as a key component of the Center, Dartmouth Cancer Center has established a common platform (RaDar) to support scheduling, order/charge entry, and reporting.
