Sharing Difficult Decisions

We can help when you need to make a difficult healthcare decision. It can be hard to decide whether to have surgery, a test or continue treatment.

Shared decision-making is a communication skill that we support within our organization. We collaborate with you and help you come to an agreement about a healthcare decision. It is especially useful when no clear "best" treatment option exists.

At Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, appointment preparation services are provided by Patient Support Corps volunteers. If you would like a Patient Support Corps volunteer to assist you with an upcoming appointment, please email patient.support.corps@hitchcock.org or call 603-653-3517.

At Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics Manchester, services are provided by our onsite social workers. For more information, call 603-629-1828.

Services are offered free of charge.
