We care for patients with all types of bone and soft-tissue sarcoma as well as other benign (non-cancerous) and malignant (cancerous) tumors.
What is a Sarcoma?
A sarcoma is a cancerous tumor that originates from one of the connective tissues. These tissues include bone, muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments and adipose tissue (fat).
If you have been referred to us, it is most likely due to abnormal findings on X-ray, CT scan, or MRI. Our goal is to evaluate the results as quickly as possible to determine a list of potential diagnoses and a care plan. Most lesions referred to our program are benign, or non-cancerous.
Understanding more about your condition and the different types of sarcoma cancers can help you feel more prepared to talk with your doctor. We welcome your questions and encourage you to bring a list of what you’d like to know to your appointment.
