The primary goal of the Molecular and Cellular Biology Graduate Program (MCB) at Dartmouth is the training of students to be highly qualified for productive careers in research and teaching in molecular and cellular biology. The MCB is the largest graduate program at Dartmouth.
MCB is a predoctoral training program. The requirements for the PhD for all MCB graduate students include:
- Annual research-in-progress seminars
- A term of teaching
- A written thesis and successful defense of the thesis
- Successful complete of a qualifying exam
- Training in the responsible conduct of research, research rotations, courses, and journal clubs
When the research rotations, core courses, and qualifying exam have been completed satisfactorily, the student is advanced to candidacy for the PhD degree.
The Molecular and Cellular Biology Graduate Program website includes an online application.
